Looked After Children and Young People: Working Together to Improve Outcomes
This website supports improved outcomes for all looked after children, young people and care leavers through the provision of information, useful resources and networking opportunities to those who support them and others who have an interest in this area- including children and young people as well as parents and carers.Meet Sid
Meet Sid is a website - designed and developed by young people in care to help other young people understand the National Care Standards.Young people told the Care Commission that the National Care Standards were difficult to understand.
The Care Commission and Who Cares? Scotland worked with young people to look at how to make the National Care Standards more accessible and understandable. We worked together to come up with a creative concept to express how it feels to live in a care environment. Young people described how living in care can be like living on another planet. We brought Sid the alien to life and use the website, posters and postcards as a way to promote the National Care Standards to young people in care because the Standards should be understandable to everyone – even an alien landing on earth for the first time.
