Standards in Scotland's Schools etc. Act 2000

This Act for the first times gives children and young people rights in respect of education in Scotland. Section 6 of the Act places a new duty on schools to involve pupils in the preparation of the school development plan, and furthermore provide an account of the ways in which, and extent to which the school will consult with pupils and seek to involve them concerning decisions on the everyday running of the school.
